Tony Kimpton has been working in the area of heat pumps (heating and cooling) for 35 years. Tony was employed as an engineer, calculating loads and designing heat pump systems mainly for cooling food related products; liquids, solids and even gasses.
For 17 years Tony was in charge of the Australian and New Zealand division of GEA refrigeration. In this business Tony worked with other engineers to provide the heat pump components needed to produce various applications of cooling and heating. This equipment used ammonia in larger systems, CO2, Hydrocarbons and synthetic refrigerants.
Tony has recently been working with councils on enrgy system upgrades – heat pump selections, writing reports and peer reviews of other engineering team’s designs. Tony also works with A2EP to spread the word about how heat pumps can be better utilised in aquatic centres beyond heating.
