Scope
Session 1 investigate upgrades to aquatic centres and goes into detail of some successful upgrades of centres; what were the aims, who was involved and what challenges were overcome. The presentations will be from design teams, engineers, contractors and suppliers to give you the best chance of completing similar upgrades at your facility without headaches.
Session 2 after lunch looks in detail at more advanced energy systems and how these can be used to integrate multiple buildings; ‘District’ energy systems. This is where some councils are heading and we will be discussing examples of these systems overseas and hear from local councils who are setting their goals high with integrated energy systems planned for their facilities and grant funding in the bag.

Aquatic Centre Seminar in Melbourne and Sydney – the seminars aimed to work out what a ‘perfect’ aquatic centre would look like – in one day.

Scope
The town of Pax in regional Victoria has committed to build a new aquatic centre. Pax has a population of 60,000 people and the new Splash Aquatic Centre will be the hub of the town. The pool committee in the town has committed to build the most energy efficient aquatic centre in Australia. In this event, the hypothetical Splash Aquatic Centre will be designed in one day, with input from council staff, centre managers, engineers and architects working at the cutting edge of these centres in Australia, NZ and the UK. Information from the event will be used to produce a comprehensive guide for councils, engineers and architects who are planning to build high performing aquatic centres. The event is divided into 4 sessions which feed into the final design.
